Most companies perform repeatable AI tasks on large cutting-edge models without asking too many questions. It's a bit like attaching a trailer hitch to a Formula 1 car to go take out the garbage.

Green AI offers a different approach. This open and free methodology dramatically reduces the costs and energy consumption of AI.

Its principles are simple:

• Favor deterministic code.
• Process the data locally on your own hardware.
• Design auditable systems rather than black boxes.

It’s an ideal formula for sovereign and self-hosted AI. The architecture that saves over 99% on inference costs is the same one that makes local infrastructures viable.

The results are promising. The project greenchemistry.ai has reduced its costs per execution from $5.00 to less than half a cent. Other successes include CrowdTamers and a specialist in detecting AI-generated texts.

Biography : 

Trevor Longino has built over 100 marketing engines for start-ups generating millions of dollars in the past three years. He has helped more than 14 start-ups exceed $3 million in annual revenue, including Unito.io, Gog.com, Kontakt.io et ThePrizeFactory.comHe has launched over 130 start-ups, in addition to training and advising more than 6,000 businesses on marketing, branding, growth, and revenue within accelerators in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. Through AI and automation, he has reduced overhead costs by more than 85% at CrowdTamers and by over 90% for several other companies around the world.

He is the founder of GreenAI.studio, an AI consulting firm that guarantees a reduction of over 70% in inference costs through the adoption of its practices. He is also the founder of CrowdTamers, the only agency in the world that designs content engines combining organic and paid reach to generate positive revenue in 3 months instead of 2 years.

[2] Event-driven automation with "Ansible Event Driven", from physical to AI [Jean-François Bourque]

You will be presented with a demonstration of Ansible's capabilities to automate event-based actions and how it is possible to automate systems that do not have a shell!

The architecture relies on Event-Driven Ansible (EDA) running on Fedora virtual machines to automate service remediation. A physical Arduino board provides a visual confirmation of system state changes.

Finally, as a conclusion, we will present a demo of a complete EDA cycle integrating analysis and problem-solving through artificial intelligence systems (AIOPS), all controlled and executed by the Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).

Jean-François Bourque is a digital transformation expert with over 25 years of experience in large-scale projects. A passionate solutions architect, he excels in automation, orchestration, cybersecurity, and systems provisioning. Eager to learn and recognized for his ability to share knowledge, he has supported numerous organizations in adopting complex technological solutions. With 23 years of commitment at the heart of the Linux community in Quebec, Martial will share with us an overview of his vision for an "ideal" Linux open house day.

He will reveal to us the ultimate structure that we aim to deploy to provide a complete immersive experience to our community during our next edition on September 26 at ÉTS ::

1. The General Public: Introductory conferences to discover ethical alternatives and understand why digital sovereignty starts on our personal devices.

2. The Business Sector: A space dedicated to IT decision-makers and managers to explore robust infrastructure solutions and reduce their licensing costs.

3. The Discovery Zone: A vibrant space where you can experience the diversity of the ecosystem firsthand. Come compare the environments and distributions (KDE, GNOME, Mint, SteamOS, etc.) for yourself before making a choice.

4. Group Installation: The heartbeat of the day! While our experts handle the installation of Linux on your machine, you can attend live presentations.

5. The Practical Workshop Room: A technical and specialized space reserved for system administrators and enthusiasts to delve into advanced configurations.

About the presenter:

Electrical engineer by training, Martial has over 26 years of professional experience with Linux, in addition to 10 years of expertise in UNIX gained within large multinational companies. Passionate about open-source culture, he has also been involved for 23 years in organizing and leading Linux gatherings in Quebec.

A pioneer of Linux meetups in Quebec with the first Linux-Meetup in 2003 (now known as Linux Meetings in Quebec) to open house days on Linux, he tirelessly works to democratize Linux and free software in French in Quebec.

Holder of a Lean Six Sigma green belt, he continuously seeks to improve the Linux meetings from month to month and year to year. In order to refine the structure of these events and develop the potential of each volunteer, he also draws inspiration from what he learned while he was president of two Toastmasters clubs.
