Most companies run repeatable AI tasks on large, cutting-edge models without asking too many questions. It's a bit like attaching a trailer hitch to a Formula 1 car to throw away the trash.

Green AI offers a different approach. This open source methodology reduces the costs and energy consumption of AI dramatically.​

Its principles are simple:

• Prioritize deterministic code.
• Process the data locally on your own hardware.
• Design auditable systems rather than black boxes.

It’s an ideal formula for sovereign and self-hosted AI. The architecture that saves over 99% on inference costs is the same one that makes local infrastructures viable.

The results are promising. The project greenchemistry.ai has reduced its costs per execution from $5.00 to less than half a cent. Other successes include CrowdTamers and a specialist in detecting AI-generated texts.
